North Penn Commons opens to the public

On  October 8, 2016, North Penn Commons hosted an open house for the public to tour the new facility.

The Commons is located on the former site of LansBowl, now owned by the North Penn YMCA. The project connects three agencies with the YMCA's existing building.

The campus is home to:

  • Sixty affordable independent living units for seniors through Advanced Living Communities;
  • A larger, upgraded space for Manna on Main Street to operate its soup kitchen and choice food pantry; and
  • The PEAK Center, which offers programs to help older adults live independently and remain active.

The North Penn YMCA has also been upgraded and expanded to house a zero-entry family pool, a six-lane multi-purpose pool, new locker rooms and modern program spaces.

A couple hundred people attended the open house and ribbon cutting ceremony, including several elected officials.
